Matcha Bowl
A matcha bowl, known in the traditional word chawan (tea bowl), is a ceramic vessel used to prepare matcha. Chawans come in many different types, colors, and shapes and have been used in Japanese tea ceremonies since the 13th century. A traditional chawan is usually about 5 inches in diameter and smooth to the touch. Mix, prepare, and sip your matcha all from your chawan for an authentic Japanese tea experience.
Each chawan is handcrafted by a local artisan in Western North Carolina and each one is a unique masterpiece. Pictures on this page are a representation of the majority of our matcha bowls and may not perfectly reflect yours.
Do not place your matcha bowl in the dishwasher. Hand wash only with warm water and mild soap and towel dry.
Please note that the items pictured here are only a representation of the product. Each chawan is hand-made and unique by a local artisan in Western North Carolina. Color and texture of your chawan will vary. Please message Stephanie with questions.
